Our knitting group met at my house yesterday morning. Since I wanted to pamper the girls a bit, I made a yummy carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I found the recipe in Leila Lindholm's Book "A piece of cake". My daughters gave me her book for Christmas and it is full of absolutely wonderful pictures and great recipes. I also baked sweet Norwegian buns, with and without raisins. They call them Boller here.

Stricken, Kuchen und süße Brötchen / Knitting, Cake and Sweet Buns
Das Rezept stammt aus Leila Lindholm's Backbuch "A piece of cake".

It's true, I will most likely not be able to wear it for long now, however I could not resist knitting a pompom hat for myself.

Mal sehen, was mein erstes Frühlingprojekt wird.
I think I have seen enough of the dark colors now. I am ready for bright and joyful colors. Let's see what I will choose as my first spring project.
Spring is nature's way of saying "Let's party!"

Encouraged by the January/February motto of Die lesende Minderheit to read a book whose title has a color in it, I read the Rubinrot-Saphirblau-Smaragdgrün-Trilogy by Kerstin Gier. And I had so much fun. Exciting, funny and romantic from beginning to end. A book for the young and the young at heart.
Sehr empfehlenswert!
Highly recommended!

Im Strickfieber ... Knitting Fever
This winter these hats with fur pompoms are totally in fashion in Norway. Absolutely overpriced if store-bought, but fairly reasonable if selfmade. Yarnstudio Tjorven in Oslo was so kind and put a knitting instruction on their website. Thus I made those two hats for my daughters' birthdays. I am currently working on my own ...

Erste Schritte ... First Steps
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow".
(Mary Anne Rademacher)
For more than a year I have been contemplating writing my own blog and today I finally dare to do it.
I will write my posts - wherever possible - in English as well as in German, since those are the two languages I live, think and read in ...
Today I want to share a quote I stumbled upon recently and that instantly resonated with me.
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying "I will try again tomorrow".
